Step 1: Reach Level 45 and Secure Your Base Weapon
Your first milestone is reaching level 45 by focusing on the main story quests.
The main story progression is important because it provides a major early power spike. Once completed and ascension is unlocked, you receive a high-tier class weapon that carries you through mid-game content.
Key priorities in this stage:
- Focus only on yellow main story quests for efficient leveling
- Avoid wasting early resources on low-value weapon gambling
- Use food buffs and combat scrolls to speed up difficult fights
- Clear green side quests when you need extra experience
A common mistake is spending early currency on random dungeon drops. This slows down progression and delays your core power spike.
Step 2: Complete All Horizontal Content (Around GS 1300)
After reaching level 45, raw grinding becomes inefficient. Instead, shift fully into horizontal progression systems across early zones like Verteron and Altgard.
Focus on:
Sealed Dungeons
These are essential for long-term progression. They reward materials like Daevanion Crystals and Enchantment Stones, which directly strengthen your skill board and add significant CP gains.
Strongholds
Strongholds provide upgrade materials for key accessories, especially your Noble Belt.
Monolith Feathers
Collecting these across the map improves your Revelation Amulet. Using interactive maps can save a lot of time here.
At this stage, your goal is to reach around 1300 GS while building a strong foundation of passive CP upgrades.
Step 3: Morph Equipment and Upgrade Efficiently
Once you begin upgrading gear, efficiency matters more than speed.
A key rule here is the “all-to-plus-one” approach:
Instead of maxing one item at a time, upgrade all gear evenly. For example, bring every piece to +1, then +2, and so on. This method produces more CP per resource spent and prevents bottlenecks.
Other important systems:
- Upgrade Noble Belt and Revelation Amulet to +10 before morphing
- Use the morph system to evolve gear from green to blue, then to gold rarity
- Dissolve unused white and green gear to maintain a steady supply of enhancement materials
This stage is about consistency, not burst upgrades.
Step 4: Specialize and Enter Endgame Dungeons (GS 1400–1700)
Once you reach mid-game Gear Score, you must choose a direction: PvE or PvP. Trying to do both too early will slow your progress.
| Path | Main Source | Result |
|---|---|---|
| PvE Build | Crafting and expedition dungeons | Higher PvE damage and survivability |
| PvP Build | Abyss Points (AP) shop | Strong PvP stats, especially accessories |
PvP players should prioritize accessories first since they offer strong CP gains for relatively low cost. PvE players should focus on replacing leveling gear with standard gold dungeon gear.
Daily progression also becomes important here:
- Complete daily duty quests for AP and materials
- Open the duty menu regularly to track progress
- Avoid over-investing in high-tier mana stones too early
For most builds, green or blue mana stones with core stats like Attack or Critical Hit are enough at this stage.
Step 5: Transcendence and Sky Island Progression (GS 1700–2400+)
After reaching around 1650–1700 GS, the endgame loop begins to unlock fully.
Transcendence System
This system introduces Arcana Cards, which significantly boost CP. Proper progression here can push your character toward the 2000 CP range quickly.
Vakron’s Sky Island
At around 1800+ GS, this becomes one of the most efficient farming zones. It provides high-level drops and steady progression materials for final upgrades.
Recommended focus:
- Prioritize Transcendence upgrades for long-term CP scaling
- Use remaining energy efficiently in Sky Island content
- Continue refining gear rather than replacing everything
By this point, progression becomes more about optimization than raw upgrades.
Progression in Aion 2 is not just about increasing numbers. The real goal is balancing Gear Score for access and Combat Power for actual performance.
