In Forza Horizon 6, fast travel works a bit differently than in past entries. You can fast travel from the start, completely free, but only to roads and locations you’ve actually explored. With Japan’s map spanning over 220 square kilometers—more than double the size of FH5—knowing the key fast travel points early saves you hours of driving.
Here’s a guide to the most important locations you should unlock first.
1. Major Urban Hubs & Social Spots
- Downtown Tokyo City – The densest urban area in Horizon history. Unlocking this lets you access complex street circuits, skyscraper runs, and multi-level roads without wasting time cruising in circles.
- Daikoku-Inspired Meet Hub – A social hotspot modeled after Japan’s iconic car meet. Fast traveling here puts you right into the heart of the community. You can even hop out and explore builds thanks to the game’s third-person walking mechanic.
- Gingko Avenue – A visually distinct boulevard in the city, perfect as a central waypoint for slicing through traffic or launching high-speed street races.
2. Mountain Passes & Drift Heavens
- Mount Haruna (Mt. Akina) – A must for drift fans. Unlock this pass to drop straight into downhill drift sessions without driving the valley roads first.
- Bandai Azuma – Known for tight turns and wild elevation changes. Essential for testing high-grip tunes and mastering technical cornering.
- Mount Fuji Wilderness – The rural heart of the map. Unlocking a fast travel point here lets you jump straight into off-road events and experience dramatic seasonal weather like heavy snow.
3. High-Speed Highways & Endgame Zones
- C1 Loop (Elevated Expressways) – These city highways are perfect for top-speed runs. Unlocking here lets you instantly test drag builds and long straightaways without detours.
- Legend Island – The endgame hub located far from the mainland. You unlock it by progressing through campaign wristbands. Once discovered, fast travel eliminates a huge trek across the map.
4. Player Houses
- Buyable Player Houses – Scattered across Tokyo, lakesides, and mountain edges, buying these provides permanent spawn points and fast travel anchors. They’re strategically placed near regional event triggers, letting you jump into races instantly.
