If you have spent much time picking fights in the broken districts of Arc, you already know that horrible rising whistle that cuts through the gunfire and makes your stomach drop. That is the Bombardier dialing you in, and it is nothing like a lazy turret sitting on a rooftop next to your usual stash of ARC Raiders Items. This thing roams, hunts, and brings serious artillery wherever you happen to be standing. It does not care about direct sight lines either; it can slam shells into you while it is hiding behind half a block of rubble.
The Way It Hunts You
The nasty bit is how it tracks. New players think the Bombardier just lobs shells where you were a second ago. It does not. It pairs its own sensors with those annoying little Spotter drones, and once they flag you, the machine starts aiming at where you are going, not where you are. The rounds come in high, way over street cover, so ducking behind a burnt-out car or a low wall feels safe for about half a second. If a drone is floating above, the Bombardier can curl a shot through a blown-out window or over a barricade like it has played this map a hundred times. In tight alleys you barely get time to react before you are dragging yourself up with half your health gone.
Breaking The Armor
You can not just empty mags into its chest plate and hope it falls over. The armor shrugs that stuff off. What works is aiming for the bright yellow joints on its legs. Hit the “kneecaps” a few times and you can hear the tone change as its stride goes weird and slow. Once it is limping, you get space to circle around or shift the fight to a spot that suits you better. The big prize is on its back, though. There is a yellow cylinder tucked behind the main body, almost like whoever built it wanted raiders to notice. When your squad focuses fire there, the health bar melts and the whole frame collapses a lot faster than you would expect from something that scary.
Picking Your Moment
Most squads wipe because they panic and keep running in circles. The Bombardier actually gives you a window if you pay attention. After it launches a mortar burst, the whole chassis pauses for a moment while the system resets. That is when you stop sprinting, snap aim to the weak spots, and dump your big cooldowns. Rockets, charged shots, anything with burst damage works well there. Just do not get greedy. If you hang around waiting for one more perfect shot, the next volley is already in the air and you are eating dirt again. It is all about short bursts of aggression, then back to moving.
Why It Is Worth The Risk
When you finally watch a Bombardier fold in on itself and topple over, the drop feels like payday after a bad stretch of runs. The wreck usually spills high-grade ARC Alloy, Advanced Powercells, and chunks of Performance Steel you are always short on when crafting late-game gear. Every so often you see a Bombardier Cell or rare launcher ammo in the pile, which is the kind of stuff that makes the next fight a lot less painful. If your group is trying to gear up fast or stock materials before a big push, hunting one of these monsters on purpose can be worth the trouble, especially when you are planning to buy ARC Raiders Items and need to make the most of every run.
